January 27, 2009 - Athlone Global Security Corp. (AGS) was one of eight companies invited to exhibit at the National Guard Bureau’s J2 Intelligence Training Workshop held January 14 – 16, 2009.

The invitation was extended as a result of AGS responding to the organization’s Request for Information.  The training workshop was geared toward providing updates on current issues relevant to the National Guard’s intelligence mission and training.

Some 128 people attended the workshop including the state National Guard Directors of Intelligence (J2).  According to the RFI, the National Guard Bureau’s mission includes Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) processes and Incident Awareness and Assessment (IAA), and systems and architecture.  AGS presented Bluebird Aerosystems’ tactical UAVs and support equipment and Icaros’ Nevo-System, its geospatial surveying and mapping system.  Both Bluebird and Icaros are components of AGS’ suite of portfolio companies.

AGS was well received by the attendees who were offered the opportunity to see and touch the Nevo System, as they were briefed on its features and utilities.  Among the many visitors to the AGS booth were Maj. Gen. Kathleen Fick, Director for Intelligence, National Guard Bureau-J2; Brig. Gen. Joseph M. Wells, Deputy Commanding General, U.S. Army Intelligence Center and Fort Huachuca and Col. James E. Taylor, Senior Guard Advisor, U.S. Army Intelligence Center and Fort Huachuca.

In addition to AGS, exhibitors included Raytheon, who briefed their Distributed Common Ground System which is a “new functionality for information sharing.”  NEK Advanced Securities Group, Inc. presented the facets of their intelligence support including Geographic Information System (GIS) and technical and tactical training to the U.S. Special Operations Forces
.
SAIC briefed their GeoRover, a geospatial software product which is a component of their GIS.  Representatives from Rockwell Collins’ Intelligence Solutions from St. Petersburg, Florida presented their Wideband Imagery Dissemination System Broadcast Request Imagery Technology Environment, better known as WIDSBRITE.
The NGB J2 Intelligence Training Workshop proved beneficial in opening lines of communication among all the attendees which may lead to business, partnering and teaming opportunities.
